Barton Creek Village is an age-restricted housing development in Southwest Austin, located on Barton Creek Boulevard. Like many sites LSI has worked on, it poses unique environmental and regulatory challenges. The site is in the sensitive Edwards Aquifer Contributing Zone which requires the highest level of stormwater control. The chief challenge is that impervious cover is restricted to 20%. In addition, the neighborhood context, including two schools, an existing age-targeted community, and high-end residential communities required careful architectural skill to keep from obtruding on the neighborhood.
